Bridal getting ready photos = our favorite. So we were happy that we had so much time to capture all of the anticipation and the little pretty details that make up the early morning of a wedding. The bridesmaids… the shoes… the dress… the rings… even the hair spray in action were all captured. After everyone was beautified, we headed over to St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Jensen Beach for the wedding ceremony. Early on we got to meet the ring bearers who were totally hamming it up for the camera. So after shooting about 5649800 photos of those cute lil guys, it was time for the Catholic ceremony. Afterwards, the newly weds were whisked away in a classic GTO. I have no clue about old cars, but all of the guys were making a big deal about it.
Next we had to high tail it to a private Fort Pierce Beach for the party photos. In typical Florida fashion, half of the sky was dark as night with a looming storm, while the other half was bright and sunny like a cartoon. Luckily we made it back to the cars just in time before it started to rain. We then headed to the reception, which as at Mangrove Mattie’s on Hutchinson Island, in Fort Pierce… where I unfortunately OD’d at the candy bar. The best part was when the groom got on stage and got the party started by rocking out on his guitar : )

Since I basically knew half of the people attending this wedding, I knew it would be fun and I felt pretty comfortable shooting it. Alternatively, the bridal party felt a little too comfortable with me shooting them so it got a little out of hand at times. Especially when they turned the golf carts into bumper cars and ravaged the course at Pointe West. I was a tad bit fearful for my life at one point when the groom’s brother jumped a hill and we caught some air… but… luckily no one got hurt and only a couple of golf carts died, so that’s not too shabby. The ceremony was at the Catholic Church in Sebastian, and the festive reception was at Pointe West in Vero Beach. The vibrant flowers were provided by Jill at the Pink Pelican Florist. The limo driver was mean to us, so he will remain nameless.
Here is a sampling of the photos, towards the end of the night things started getting a bit too risque to be showcased on the Vitalic Blog : )

So after Katy & Justin’s fun filled wedding adventure at Islamorada, the following day we did a 1 year anniversary trash the dress session at Bahia Honda (MM 37) in the Keys with Mandy and Joe. I had to mention the Mile Marker number, because apparently that’s what you do in the Keys. I was slightly hesitant about trashing her designer wedding gown, but, as it turns out, it actually made it cleaner! Apparently the salt water helped get the dirt out, so it turned out to be a successful mission.
The best part was when I yelled for Joe to spin Mandy around after she leaped into his arms, when all of a sudden a big gust of wind blew her heavy, soaking wet dress up and smacked them both in the head, getting sand all over their faces and knocking her veil off. Good thing for them it wasn’t on video, or else I would have definitely posted that all over youtube. J/k… <3 you guys, sorry you got sand in your eyes and Happy Anniversary!

Well can anyone tell it’s the middle of high wedding season? We’ve been so busy but it’s been so much fun! This post is featuring Katy & Justin’s wedding which took place in Islamorada in the Florida Keys. Everything was perfect… the weather, the setting, the live reggae band, the guests and the couple! It was a quintessential tropical wedding with lots of chemistry and intimacy. The only snafu I can think of was the threat of a hovering storm that forced everyone to forego the sparkler exit… but Chrissy and I improvised… you’ll see how below.

Sometimes when it rains on someone’s wedding day… people say, “Oh! That’s good luck!” Well it was a very bright & sunny day with no rain, but in Heather & Harry’s case, I think they may have started a new tradition. Like, for instance, maybe if you get into a car accident on your wedding day, then maybe that’s good luck too. Both Heather and Harry got into two separate car accidents, so with that kind of compatibility I think that they are destined to be together forever.
Nicki just got back from her honeymoon in Jamaica, so for this wedding I got a chance to team up with the talented Scott Mcnamara of Melbourne. The wedding was a Sunday Brunch celebration at the Moorings Club in Vero Beach, Florida. It featured a live band, lots of nice speeches, and most importantly, Harry’s pink bow tie.
