When you hear the words “Disney Wedding,” you probably start thinking about Mickey Mouse ears adorned with a veil, or maybe the crystal carriage pulled by stately horses. Those weddings do exist at Disney however, this one was far from that. It was simply a gorgeous wedding on the perfectly quaint property at Disney’s Boardwalk. Don’t forgot to view the video at the bottom, the vows are sure to make you a bit teary :’)

Chrissy, Jason and I recently took a trip to Las Vegas to attend WPPI – the Wedding & Portrait Photographers International convention. While we were there we got to do a little sight seeing and of course took some photos along the way. One of my best friends is attending dental school at UNLV so we were lucky to have our own personal tour guide while we were there! Thanks Soph! It was also super fun to run into our photographer friends Scott McNamara and Julie Paisley. We’ll also be posting a few photos from a workshop we attended in the dessert so keep an eye out for that. : )

Things We Learned in Vegas
Street characters expect tips BEFORE posing for photos.
The Sex and the City slots game = awesome.
If you see any grass in Vegas, it’s definitely fake.
Have lip gloss with you at all times, holy dryness.
Boys cannot bring purses (aka camera bags) into nightclubs.
When martinis are $16 and 4 oz mixed drinks are $12, it makes more sense to gamble that money and take the free drinks with welcome arms.
Jason learned not to play the Sex and the City game alone, those cameras are watching you.

2012 Year in Review » vitalicphoto.com - […] In February we decided it was time to take our first trip to WPPI — a week long conference in Las Vegas where all of the best photographers flock to network and learn from each other.  We met a great group of girls from all over the country who we still keep in touch with.  It was a great experience and we hope to go back again one day (unfortunately/fortunately not in 2013 since we’ll be photographing a wedding in Jamaica that week).  Here are a few outtakes from our travels… […]ReplyCancel

I’ve been looking forward to attending/shooting this wedding for a pretty long time now. I remember about 5 years ago I was being a total “uncle bob” shooter while we were attending a mutual friend’s wedding. I showed her some of the photos on the back of my camera and Christy blurted out to Kevin, “oooh she should shoot our wedding!” So a few years later after Kevin was able to save up a billion dollars to buy the huge rock on her finger, they got engaged and she quickly asked us to shoot her wedding! I was of course honored, because as I mentioned earlier during their engagement session post, Kevin was kind enough to officiate our own wedding (don’t laugh at my frizzy hair!) so I’m happy I got to be there behind the scenes at his wedding as well. The wedding was coordinated by Desiree Dawn Events, who we hope we can collaborate again with in the future! We love you both and wish you many years of happiness and tall beautiful babies.

Thank you 100 Layer Cake for featuring this styled shoot!

This garden themed styled shoot comes from the creative mind of Lara Fiorelli with Lara’s Theme Events. It was such a great opportunity to collaborate with some new vendors in our area to produce these pretty images. The idea started with the eclectic venue, Waldo’s Secret Garden, which was the perfect venue with such pretty lush landscaping and distinctive architecture and pathways. The floral arrangements were designed by Lara and furnishings by Heather Horwitz designs. The coordinating paper goods were provided by the oh so talented Amanda of Peach Leaf Paperie and cake by Sandra’s Cakes.

A huge thank you to our beautiful models/bffs Josh & Liz for getting all dolled up for this shoot. You didn’t hear it form me, but rumor has it that even Josh got a little bit of makeup, courtesy of A pampered life. Thanks Lara for thinking of us and including us in this shoot!

One of our favorite chapels in Florida is the Knowles Memorial Chapel at Rollins college in Winter Park. We could have probably spent about 2.5 hours shooting at the campus in all of the ornate archways, rose gardens and bumpy brick roads, but pretty sure most people would much rather enjoy their wedding day : ) We were so happy to hear that Cristina and Nathan discovered us from her bridesmaid that also happens to be one of our past brides! The different shades of bridesmaids’ dresses were just lovely and her long flowy veil looked angelic when the wind picked it up.
