What a difference a year makes | 2011 in Review

We cannot even believe the amazing opportunities we have had this past year. Our business has grown and it continues to consume our lives (in a good way). We live and breath photography, good style and have the highest hopes for the future. Around the New Year we always reflect on our experiences and memories from the last year. We have traveled to San Francisco, the Bahamas, Islamorada and all over the state of Florida for pretty weddings. Last year around this time we decided to set a goal for ourselves — as dedicated followers of so many inspirational wedding blogs, we wanted to see some of our own beautiful brides up on those sites. Not only has this lead to some national recognition for us, it has showcased the amazing wedding planning our brides have put their heart and soul into. So we’d like to take a minute to remember this year’s accomplishments and highlight some of our 2011 weddings.

First up, probably our most unique wedding this year was Alison & Ann‘s brunch wedding at Bella Collina in Montverde. Their attire and details were divine but we wouldn’t expect anything less from Alison (an interior designer). Their photos were featured on Style Me Pretty‘s main site, one of our most exciting features this year!

We were also privileged to do a little traveling to photograph some weddings. This is Amanda & Rob, they were married in Islamorada during a week long monsoon. Thankfully we were able to get some pretty portraits despite the rain.

Jessica & David decided to semi-elope and were married with just a handful of family members at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. Talk about endless photo opportunities!

Caitlin & Charlie‘s March wedding was undeniably pretty. Caitlin’s dress was amaze, and their venue was unique. They held their ceremony on the lawn of Charlie’s uncle’s house, and the reception took place behind the house on the pool deck overlooking the river. The details were classic, Southern and feminine, just like the couple. Southern Weddings Blog chose to feature this wedding on their site as well, another exciting feature.

Here are some other pretty shots from 2011.

Loved exploring the grounds of the Ritz Carlton in Amelia Island for Leeza & Will‘s wedding.

This wedding was actually our first one in 2011. Lauren & Jesse were married at Vero Beach Hotel & Spa. Their personalities and wedding day details made a deep impression to us, and they struck The Knot Florida magazine as well because they chose it for their Spring/Summer 2012 print edition.

Our farthest trip this year was to San Francisco this past April. Lindsey & Andy had their eco-conscious wedding in Muir Woods National Monument and their reception at a downtown San Francisco restaurant. Since neither of us had been to San Francisco before, we had a great time exploring the city and nearby towns. It’s beautiful there, we kept thinking how lucky California photographers are! We had come across a really cool magazine/blog called Eco Beautiful Weddings and we thought they might be interested in the seeing this wedding. Sure enough they chose it for their Winter 2012 Issue. Being the eco friendly company that they are, they showcase their magazine online and only print their publication on demand.

We are so thankful for all of our couples, families and friends – we thank you for the opportunity to capture the most special moments in your lives!  We hope 2012 is just as amazing as 2011.  HAPPY NEW YEAR!
