This engagement shoot was a little bittersweet for both parties involved. Christie and Mike contacted us to photograph their wedding on one of the most popular dates of the year – 11/11/11 – and we were already booked. ::insert sad face:: We hate having to tell a couple we’re unavailable, but Christie and Mike decided that they still really wanted to do some engagement photos with us. We’re so glad because we had a great time getting to know them and had some beautiful sun to play with!
When we first met with Ashley and her mother, and she let us know that she was a wedding coordinator with An Affair to Remember, we were looking forward to a superbly organized wedding with really cute details. Ashley and the girls on the team did a great job bringing the outdoors indoors. The tall trees by the alter at the church made for such a nice backdrop during the ceremony and family portraits. The reception at the Pelican Yacht Club with its fun market lights galore looked like an outdoor tent wedding, but with the benefits of lovely air conditioning. After the ceremony we explored downtown Fort Pierce with the bridal party, which coordinated nicely with their engagement session we did in downtown Orlando. While trotting around the downtown area, the couple got many honks from the Fort Pierce natives and even a standing ovation by a local motorcycle gang : ) We loved watching Ashley & Dan dance together all night, everyone looked like they were having a great time!
Since their close friends and family were located all over the states, Lindsey & Andy wanted to have an intimate destination wedding at one of their favorite locations, the Muir Woods redwood forest located in San Francisco, California. The forest was such a beautiful location, but we quickly realized on the trek to the ceremony that wearing cute sandals and cardigans was not such a good idea. The deeper we ventured into the forest, the darker (and colder!) it got. After their reception, we were so happy the couple wanted to venture around some other locations in the San Francisco area for some sunset photos. We scouted out a spot near the Golden Gate bridge called Rodeo Cove that we thought would be perfect for this nature loving couple. It had treacherous jagged cliffs and rolling green mountains… or maybe they aren’t really mountains, but when you’re used to Florida they are. We were so happy to photograph this sweet couple at their dream location, and we can’t wait to return to California again someday : )
Clare and Dan are getting married up in Vero but they live down in Tequesta, so they decided to have their engagement photos taken close to their home – on the grounds of the Jupiter lighthouse and out in the boat where they spend almost every weekend. The lighthouse is so cool and we had a private (semi-exhausting) tour to the top lol. We then hopped in their boat and went out to the sandbar where low tide provided an insanely unique setting.
